HR 100: Health Care Reform
On January 10, 2013, Jim Beatrice, Vice President and Benefits Advisor of Business Benefits Insurance Solutions, made a presentation to the Northern Kentucky Chamber’s HR 100 Group on Health Care Reform: Be Prepared, Not Shocked. The attendees were made up of about 35 HR Specialist, from local companies, most with 50 or more full time employees. Jim’s presentation focused on three main areas of concern for employers, Compliance & Reporting, the Employer Mandate as well as Cost. The presentation also included some strategies to help employers prepare for 2014.
Eggs ‘N Issues: Health Care Reform Health and Wellness Breakfast & Expo
On February 19, 2013 the Northern Kentucky Chamber held their annual Eggs ‘N Issues / Health & Wellness Breakfast & Expo. The program featured three area Health Care Reform experts; John Dubis, CEO and President of St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Geralyn Isler, Vice President and Benefits Advisor of Business Benefits Insurance Solutions, & David Whaley, Associate of Dinsmore & Shohl, LLP in a roundtable discussion designed to educate employers about reform and compliance related issues
The panel discussed topics ranging from tips and strategies for employers to prepare for reform, factors employers should consider in evaluating whether to pay or play, tracking variable hour employees, and private and state exchanges. The program was well received and featured a lively question and answer session addressing many of the issues most critical to employers.
